Come Together to Provide a Sweet Treat to Q&A!

Andrea Essenpreis is the owner of Q&A Sweet Treats in LaGrange, but more importantly, she is a community leader who embodies the Be Kind mantra started by the Richins Family of Oldham County. It's our turn to show Andrea how our community can live that same mantra out during her time of need.

This week, Andrea fell down the stairs at her bakery, and broke both of her legs. Because she was alone when she fell, she drove herself to the hospital as to not burden anyone else for help. Andrea is now unable to drive, bake, care for her family, run her business or take care of herself the way a single mom needs to.

Meanwhile, the A/C at the bakery has gone out. Her staff is baking inside with temperatures reaching 90 degrees. The repair bill is very costly, and the units are so old that they honestly need to be replaced. As her business neighbor, I see Andrea working hard on her investment and dream, and she's often push-mowing the grass, making repairs and baking all by herself. She has an incredibly dedicated team that is her family, but they cannot carry this financial burden. They are working hard in the bakery with a short staff, and also helping Andrea with personal care. It would be great if we could bestow a big gift to the bakery by helping with the A/C!

Andrea quietly and consistently serves our community through City Council, service projects such as the Alley Loop, she was a big part of the recent HGTV episode which gave back to a local family and Downtown LaGrange. She always comes to the help of others, despite battling breast cancer herself. Her workload is heavy, but she is always smiling and still offering help when it is needed.
