In 2024 my best friend Janelle was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Just one month later, her soul dog Kingston was diagnosed with two types of cancer and needed surgery to remove the tumors. Kingston's cancer then spread to his lymph nodes and he bravely completed chemotherapy treatment. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful and his cancer has continued to spread.

Janelle completed chemotherapy and radiation during which she was very ill and unable to work (we're talking head in the trashcan for weeks!) She continues to experience post-treatment side effects which may be a lifelong battle.

Earlier this year, Janelle completed 40 sessions of additional post-cancer treatment for post-cancer related complications including scar tissue and bone necrosis. During these treatments, she was unable to work once again.

Between Kingston's cancer treatment, Janelle's treatment, and missing a total of 7 months of work..... the struggle is real! Janelle has supported herself independently and (because she is stubborn) has refused to ask for help from others - which is why I have taken the liberty of doing it for her!

Janelle is a clinical social worker/therapist who has dedicated her life to helping others; she has an extensive history supporting those with severe mental health, trafficking survivors, and nonverbal adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is an absolute animal lover, you can find her volunteering at the spay and neuter clinic when she has the strength.
