On December 23, 2013, Decera (Dee Dee) Gilbert, an amazing mother of four, was hospitalized with a life-threatening illness, experiencing sepsis. After undergoing numerous surgeries, she unfortunately had to undergo a quadruple amputation of all four limbs.
Our dear friend/family member, Dee Dee, has shown incredible strength. Her journey has been marked by significant pain and hardship, but never by self-pity. Dee Dee has remained positive and continues to be a light for others, even in the midst of her tragedy. Life has been tough, and unfortunately, she has depleted her resources and funds. Dee Dee is fighting fiercely to reclaim her independence, but she needs urgent support to cover three critical areas.
• Urgent Dental Work
Due to her medications, she's in need of a necessary procedure to ensure health and comfort.
• Specialized Equipment
Custom wheelchairs, adaptive gear, and home modifications.
• Home Care Assistance
Professional help for daily living tasks.
*unfortunately insurance doesn’t cover or have stipulations that doesn’t fit most of her needs.
Thank you so much for taking a moment to read my story. Navigating life as a quadruple amputee has its challenges, but maintaining my health shouldn't be a battle I fight alone. I am so grateful in advance for any contribution, share, or kind word you can offer. Your support is helping me regain my health and my smile, and that means the world to me.
