EcoScript is proud to present The Rite of Spring, directed by Mya Rosado-Tran coming to the Green Oasis Community Garden from September 12th-21st, and we need your help! Your donation will go towards supporting the EcoScript team and ensemble, a direct donation supporting our hosting garden, and the recycled materials to put on the show. Since the event is being held in a public Community Garden, the price of attendance is donation-based, and we are turning to our community to help us put on this environmental adaptation.
The Rite of Spring is an immersive theatre event, juxtaposing performance with garden maintenance. Through Njinsky’s choreography, poetic and scientific botanical texts, actualized horticultural labor, as well as live accompaniment, the audience is transported into a living sculpture garden.
Synopsis. As the Union Square climate clock strikes zero, pagan botanists conduct an irreversible ritual changing the climate of Mother Earth in which a chosen sacrificial virgin dances herself to death.
