Come Dine with...Us at Edinburgh Fringe

[Drum roll please ………….we are going to the Edinburgh Fringe this year!!!
WHAT? Come Dine With Mr Shakespeare is a stroke of genius and the moment we read it we knew we were on to a winner.. Written by Julia Bolden, this brand new play follows 4 well known characters from different Shakespeare plays, using text from those plays (and a loveable 21st century narrator) during an episode of Come Dine With Me. What could go wrong - right…?
WHY? We get to bring Shakespeare with a twist to a broad audience with humour, making his work accessible to adults and kids.
WHO? We have the lovely Francesca Elise (Cordelia) , Kit Nicols (Lady Macbeth) , James Bruce (Duke Orsino), Ben Scheck (Petruchio), Kevin Ryan (narrator) and the lovely Rachael Bellis who will be directing us!
WHERE? Edinburgh – at theSpaceUK at North Bridge in the Perth Theatre . One of the Fringes most exciting spaces and a 60 second walk from the Royal Mile. The Edinburgh Fringe is the biggest arts festival in the WORLD . We’ll get to showcase what we think is a truly genius play. We’ve grown up hearing stories and seeing photos of the Fringe and this year we’re going to make it happen!
WHEN? Lucky audience members get to see us perform from 19- 24th August 3-4pm - a perfect time to have a big dose of humour AND to bring along the kids, 12 and over!
AS WELL We are also performing a one-night preview in Cambridge on the 23rd July at The Junction Theatre and in London on the 11th and 12th August at the wonderful Bread & Roses Theatre .
HOW? I THOUGHT YOU’D NEVER ASK! This is where we hope you might be able to help. As London-based actors, we’re used to living paycheck to paycheck. Throw in travel & accommodation for 6 people, marketing, legal stuff, props & costume, and sacrificing a week of paid work in London, it makes for a for a hell of a financial commitment. But, we’re putting our hearts into this project and want to make it a reality, so we’re going to do everything we can. So we’re asking for your help - no amount is too small OR too big!
So where does this money go?
Here’s a few things your money will help us with:
· £6- contributes to props
· £15- covers printing of around 500 flyers
· £50- contributes towards fuel
· £94- covers venue hire for one performance
· £100 – should cover insurance costs
· £205- covers Edinburgh Fringe Registration Fee
· £400 (if you’re feeling really generous) covers accommodation for 3 of us for the week!
