Come Together for Carson!

Carson Sledge is the son of Cody & Courtney Sledge, grandson of John & Diane Rainey, Craig Sledge, and Liz Lewis. Courageous Carson has lived with Epilepsy his entire life. It has been a challenging journey for him and his family. Throughout his life, Carson has shown everyone what true strength is by enduring multiple therapeutics and surgeries and a mountain of medications. Always with a smile!

Most recently, Carson underwent a Craniotomy "posterior quadrant disconnection" at Cooks Children Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. It is a procedure where they disconnect portions of the brain to help rid seizure activity in carefully selected patients. Unfortunately, post-surgery, new concerns arose. The neurosurgeons were concerned about his lack of mobility, so they requested a partial MRI. In less than 15 minutes, the MRI was completed. The neurosurgeon immediately returned with the news that Carson had suffered a stroke during the procedure. Unfortunately, this is irreversible outside of the grace of God.

This means the family will have to be away from their other children, home, and work in Lubbock because Carson will have extensive rehabilitation in Ft Worth. Hopefully, this GoFundMe will assist with travel, living, and medical expenses that the insurance will not cover.
