Every year, Combat Radio and Salt Creek Grille (Valencia) provide Christmas for the children of social services. We bus in 'Polar Express style' about 400 children (and their families) from different shelters and organizations (such as Hope Gardens, the Shelter For Domestic Violence, Sylmar, LSS Social Services, Santa Clarita and more) for what is essentially their only taste Christmas, (there is NO Christmas on the 25th for these children) The event is an all you can eat, first class brunch with presents, about 80 characters (from Disney to Star Wars to The Avengers), entertainment, a LIVE Broadcast and.....a visit from Santa Claus! Last year with the pandemic we delivered presents and meals to over ten shelters (including one in Watts, Ca.) and this December, we will hold the Christmas event at Salt Creek --and-- also deliver supplies, presents, meals to several shelters (in the Los Angeles area) throughout the month of December --and we need your help to do it! The following donations (which are tax-deductible) go to charter buses (we need 8 to 12 buses), presents (on average 15.00/20.00 ea. --because we want them to have a GOOD present plus wrapping paper etc.), rentals, insurance, food and tech costs. You can see the event in the video below. We hope you will help make this happen and with the help of a few heroes, we managed to put together some prizes for those who 'hero-up' and we'll continue to offer up some surprises (including concert tickets, signed items etc) through December. Hopefully, YOU will get involved and help us make Christmas happen for families that could really use a little kindness.....
