Take a Knife, Save a life is a charitable organisation that's main objective is to tackle knife crime.
Take a knife save a life use a variety of volunteers with different skill sets and qualifications, including:-SIA/CP trained, First aiders, safe guarding, youth workers, mental health first aiders, boxing coaches, football coaches, rehabilitated offenders, therapists, hypnotists, music artists, celebrities & sports personalities.
Volunteers interact with youths & try to help guide and mentor them wherever possible.
Our volunteers do regular weapon sweeps resulting in finding and removing hundreds of knives and even 3 guns off the street within the last two years.
We work with our local boxing clubs, martial arts clubs, football & other sports clubs encouraging young people to participate in these sports rather than hanging around on the streets.
We have recently partnered with the Breyer Foundation Place of Change programme helping young people into apprenticeship schemes and into meaningful employment.
Take a Knife, Save a Life has developed our own early intervention program designed to change mindsets & help challenge their way of thinking and show them better ways to deal with certain situations. Also helping them deal with anger management, alcohol and drug problems as well as helping deal with childhood trauma.
Take a knife save a life was founded by Stephen Gowers in the wake of the horrific and senseless murder of teenager Jodie Chesney, a bright young lady with a heart of gold . This senseless murder inspired the community of Havering to stand up & join together to raise awareness & combat knife crime.
Since TAKSAL became a registered charity on the 10th of July 2020 we have gone from strength to strength & want to keep growing, with your help we can reach out further afield by taking our module & implementing it across the entire U.K.
Thank you in advance for your support & donations helping us continue our mission.
