The Combat Air Museum, located in Topeka, Kansas, has a great opportunity to acquire an F-15A for loan to our inventory. In order for this to happen we will need to raise the $18,500.00 it will cost to transport and reassemble it at the museum. We can’t think of a more incredible example of exceptional air dominance to add to the museum’s collection. Our mission with this specific aircraft is to educate patrons about the F-15 Eagle, and to respect and honor all of those who have kept this elite aircraft flying for over 40 years; with many years still to come.
Aircraft 71-0286 was the seventh aircraft off the production line. It was used at Edwards AFB for armament and external fuel stores testing. It was then withdrawn from service and sent to Chanute AFB for jet engine and fuel system training until the base closed in 1990. Next, it was transferred to the Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum and was on display until the museum closed. It was then moved to Saint Louis Science Center and put in storage, where it currently rests.
Please help us preserve this early example of the nation’s finest combat aircraft. We humbly thank you for your time and consideration.
