UPDATE
It is with a very heavy heart that we write this update; our mom passed away today, 6/19/18, shortly after her breathing apparatus was removed when we learned there was no hope for her to recover. While this was devastating and impossible to put to words, she is at peace now, and we appreciate the support and messages we've received on here and beyond.
Our mom had a great deal of expenses that now fall to us, and we won't know the extent of the medical bills for some time. In the meantime, we'll be using this account to pay for a cremation, a funeral service at St. Bernadine of Siena, and a burial plot where her remains will be laid to rest alongside her mother, Charline. We are in the midst of planning her funeral service and will shortly update this page with the date and location in the Los Angeles area.
Thank you, and we sincerely appreciate that support.

On Wednesday night, June 13th, our mother, Cathleen Tibbetts, went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to Tarzana Hospital, where she is currently in the Cardiovascular ICU in an induced coma. Because she was without oxygen for around 15 minutes, she likely has irreversible brain damage, and according to doctors, the likelihood of recovery is slim.
As of right now, she's being weaned off of sedatives in order to clear her for further testing. Her medical bills will be staggering, and not only will we have to handle this financial burden, we have to prepare for her potential end-of-life costs such as cremation, service and memorial arrangements, etc.
Carleen and Jarred lost their father last year, and now they are shouldering the financial burden of Cathleen's medical bills and painful preparation for her impending funeral arrangements. Unfortunately, she didn't have anything put away for such an event and neither do we.
Over the last 5 years our mother's health was on the decline, but she was happy and in good spirits and enjoying watching her granddaughter grow. She worked hard to provide for us as a single mom and we owe so much to her. The least we can do is honor her the way she deserved. Any money raised would be a tremendous help in relieving our emotional stress and financial hardship at this tenuous time.
*We will continue to update this page regarding her status with any new information we recieve.
Thank you for your support in this difficult time. We consider our friends our family as well, and anything you can give is appreciated beyond words.
