Hi! My name is Amy McCormick. My co-coach, Ashlee Sherwood (and an amazing volunteer-turned-coach, Justin Conrad) started a middle school VEX IQ team in Columbiana this year. We were blessed with a wonderful group of students who worked after school two days a week to design, build, program, and drive their robots to compete in the 2022-2023 VEX IQ Slapshot events. Their creativity and dedication earned two of our three teams spots in the state competition on March 11, 2023! Out of 50 teams from the state of Ohio, Michael Conrad and Aiden Rosario placed 2nd and won a spot at the World's Competition in Dallas, Texas, at the end of April! Our other team, comprised of Andrew Kridler, Preston Lawton, and Connor Datillio, placed 23rd in the state competition!

With this amazing success and exciting opportunity comes a great deal of expense. It is $1200 just to register for the event plus the flights and hotels for all those that are participating. The event is from April 30 - May 2, 2023 (very soon!) It would be amazing if we could cover these costs, with your help, for the students, parents, and coaches, but anything we get to defray these expenses is greatly appreciated!
