Colton’s Champions Autism Awareness

Hi All!

I am Hannah Nivens and have the sweetest joy of being a long time friend (more like family) to the Calhoun’s. As this sweet family is adjusting to their new normal and what’s to come for them I have put this together to help take aa much off of them as they care for their sweet Colt. As Sierras birthday is coming up this weekend I thought it would be the sweetest gift for her to see the overwhelming love that everyone has for Colt and her little family. I ask that you continue to shower this family with prayer, lots of love and support if you can. Details shared from the Calhoun’s:

- May 9th 2023 Colton was finally diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We had been wait listed for 2 years so we were  thrilled for the official diagnosis and that he will get access to all he therapies he needs to thrive!

- Colt’s diagnosis is “significant and intensive” and there are several diagnoses of delays and impairments that fall under his Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis.

- He requires the max amount of hours for ABA therapy, as well as several other therapies to help in other developmental areas.

- We are currently in contact with insurance, as well as other ways to help us financially, because right now it’s VERY expensive weekly for just one of his therapies. Because of our income, we are denied a lot of financial help, even with Colton being classified as a child with a disability. So, while we are in the waiting process or “figuring it out” process of how we will pay for all of this, because we WILL make a way, regardless, and get Colt all the therapies and help he needs! It is stressful, overwhelming, and any donation would mean the absolute world to us. We know God is writing our story and this is a piece of our testimony. Colton’s testimony. So, thank you so much Hannah for setting this up for my family. We are just so, SO appreciative. God has been so good to us through our support system of friends and family during the last few weeks. I’m continually left speechless, but I do want to thank Hannah so much for setting this up. You know we love you and just how special you are to our family!
