Colton's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
It’s been a difficult and emotional 5-month long battle with AML leukemia for 9-year-old Colton Stieh and his family. Colton’s mom, Kat Luretig, is a member of the equestrian community.  Colton has undergone multiple treatments, and just recently received a bone marrow transplant from his superhero older brother, 10-year-old Connor. But their journey is far from over.

When news of Colton’s illness became public, a group of local equestrians joined together to organize this  fundraising event to help the family offset the enormous financial burden they have been juggling alone. Amy Hoffman (Hoffman’s Hobby Farm), Cheryl Everall (Amare Vita Equestrian), and Carolyn Hughes (Grace Equestrian) have also joined forces to create a family friendly “HALLOWEEN CANDY HUNT” through an enchanted forest for children and families of all ages, and a “TRAIL OF TERROR” for those not afraid of what lurks in the dark. “This is every parent’s worst nightmare! We wanted to rally our community to show Colton and his family they are not fighting alone. This is the perfect time to show our support. With the pandemic creating uncertainty in what to do this Halloween, we created something COVID-19 safe and fun for everyone to enjoy. Especially, our local hero, Connor, who selflessly donated his bone marrow to help save his brother. Equestrians from the region have reached out to donate prizes and services. Our goal is to raise $5000.00,” said Everall.
