Colton Schmidt and Family

On Behalf of Colton's Family (Justin Schmidt and Shelly Erickson), we are setting up this GoFund Me to help with any medical expenses, meal or hotel expenses they may incur. Colton has a long road to recovery and his family could use any help or prayers they can get!

From Colton's mom (Shelly):

On Friday the 23rd, Colton was in a serious accident while at his dad's. He was struck by a car while on his quad. It caused him to fly up in the air and land on his head. We don’t know the total details of the how's and why’s but I’m personally hoping to find out if the witnesses saw anything.

He had to be helicoptered to UC Davis Children's Hospital from his dad's house. He had a broken nose, multiple fractures around his eyes and face and a fractured skull, along with a brain bleed. His whole face was swollen and his eyes were swollen shut.

We have had amazing support from everyone and I appreciate all the well wishes and prayers.

In the future, I will have time to go back and individually thank everyone but for now, I’m just a little overwhelmed and exhausted so this will have to do. I’ll try to keep up with updates…just know I’m tired!

After all of this, we still don’t know what Colton’s mental or physical status will be, we will just have to continue to pray. I do know that seeing my son come out of surgery with a giant slice in his head, completely helpless, is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life. My heart hurts, and it’s tired.
