My brother was Colton Ray Porter. On the morning of September 4th, 2025, we were awoken to the sound of a window breaking. As my brother stepped outside, a man barely known by our family proceeded to ambush him. My brother was innocent; he had done no wrong. At only 21 years old, he lost his life on his mother's doorstep. The sounds of my mother screaming that day will never leave my mind, nor will the look on his face as I was unable to save him. He was gunned down in cold blood by a man not even from our county.
In this time of need, our finances are extremely limited. Although we were able to bury Colton, we were unable to give him a headstone or something that marks his name so that he will always be remembered for something more than just a spot of dirt. My mother cries daily, wishing her son had a name that would be remembered. We're raising money to try to buy him a headstone so he can forever be remembered.
