On March 4, 2024 Colton Johnson was diagnosed with Stage 2-3 Hodgkins Lymphoma.
It all began when he showed is grandma Laurie (who was visiting from MT) a large swollen area near his right collarbone/shoulder area. On February23rd, after trips to the chiropractor, urgent care & the ER, he was immediately admitted into Banner Health hospital in Tempe,AZ.
A CT scan showed swollen lymph nodes & a suspicious cluster in the middle of his upper chest indicating that it was likely cancer. And the whirlwind began!
On February 26 they did a surgical biopsy of those swollen lymph nodes; grandma Laurie remained by his side. That evening, Justin & Marie were finally able to hold him & face what is to come. He went home the next day to await the final results.
After meeting with the oncologist on March 4th, they were able to start working on putting a chemo plan in place.
On March 6th he had a PET scan & will get the results on March 19th, showing the exact extent of his illness. The oncologist said he will have chemo up to 8 months depending on the stage. His chemotherapy port was put in on March 11th & he will tentatively start chemo right away, in the next week or so, as soon as it is healed & able to use.
Colton has not been feeling well the last few months, making it difficult to work. He & his family have a long road ahead.
If you have ever had anyone close to you embark on the cancer journey, you know how hard it is on everyone. Colton’s has an amazing support system with his parents & grandparents, who will all be taking turns traveling to help him. First & foremost, please pray for him! And his family! There is incredible power in that! God is good! If you can help financially as well, please know that every penny will be used to help care for Colton. Many thanks from Colton & his family.
