Colton Hepler
If your familiar with Colton Hepler you already know that he is an incredible human being. He is an astoundingly strong, smart, and talented young man. Colton is a freshman Lacrosse player at Palm Beach Atlantic and a former Gulf Coast High school Shark football/Lacrosse player. Colton has been living with Epilepsy since he was a young boy. Since that time he and his amazing family have done everything possible to give Colton the best treatment and opportunities to live his life to the fullest.
On November 30th 2020, Colton had a follow up surgery to a brain surgery he had back in 2018. The hope was to further give him a better outcome to living peacefully with his Epilepsy. Following the surgery he was not recovering as expected and became non-responsive. After a CT scan he was found to have a serious brain bleed. He was rushed to the ICU and a few days later had to have another surgery to put a tube into his brain to drain the blood and fluid and relieve the pressure that was threatening his life and causing him tremendous pain. Over the next few days he fought through several dangerous obstacles including adverse reactions to important drugs.
He was also found to have very low sodium which is a very complicated and dangerous side effect from all his body was fighting. The last few days have been positive for Colton. He has been eating a few bites of food, showered, and has even been able to talk a bit with his parents. Each of these positive steps are just the very beginning of a long road of recovery for him.
The Hepler family will no doubt be hit with enormous medical bills and have had to make several monetary sacrifices during this horrible time.
Please consider helping this amazing family to relieve some of the pressure they will be feeling in the weeks to come. They are incredible people who would give you the shirt off their back.
Thank you so much for your support!
