Hi, we are fundraising for our daughter Lydia Powers' boyfriend, Colter Martin. Colter was diagnosed with Hodkin's lymphoma, stage 4B, in February 2021. At that time, he underwent a clinical trial at Seattle Children's Hospital that included six cycles of chemo, with each cycle being 28 days for six months. He and his parents spent that six months in Seattle, initially at the Ronald McDonald house, and eventually renting an apartment for the duration and purchasing a vehicle for access to the hospital. After several chemo treatments, along with a difficult and painful surgery in July of 2021 for his deviated septum, he was able to return home in early August of 2021. As of August 25, 2021, it was determined that he was cancer free, and no further treatment was needed; AMEN! However, he has continued to get routine scans both in Juneau and at Seattle Children's Hospital since then, and in late October 2022, he had a scan that was not good.

He and his parents are now back in Seattle, with further scans showing three active sites in his chest of reassurance Hodgkins lymphoma. After undergoing surgery (which included deflating one of his lungs) to obtain the tissue samples they needed and to place the port, the oncology team at Seattle Children's have recommended another round of chemotherapy to try to treat this recurrence of cancer. This will likely be 4 - 6 cycles, with infusion on days one and eight, then a 13-day break (that is one cycle). Once those cycles are completed, a stem cell transplant will be required, possibly followed by radiation.

Colter is a senior this year at Juneau Douglas High School and is an exceptional student. He will be doing schoolwork remotely to finish this semester's classes and has enough credits already so that he does not have to worry about school for the last semester. He continues to work towards college next fall, has applied to the schools he is interested in, and has already been accepted to some. His plan right now is to continue his education at law school. He's a strong young man, an amazing athlete, and a blessing to so many people. We are hoping to help him and his family through the medical expenses, costs of living and travel between Seattle and Juneau, and overall support for Colter's journey at this time. Thank you for your prayers, love and support.
