Change The Narrative. Change Our Collective Reality.

A Colourful View From The Top is a book on a mission: to inspire young people who are either thinking about what career to choose or who are starting out in their chosen profession to dream bigger than they ever thought possible. A collection of twenty-one extraordinary stories of excellence in business by leaders of colour who have made it to the top of their game in the fields of business, marketing, the arts, law medicine and more, as told by the leaders themselves.

In 2020, during the aftermath of the murder of George Floyd, my co-founder, Neil Barrie and I were brainstorming on what actions we at TwentyFirstCenturyBrand could take to help address the challenges of systemic racism. We wanted to make sure that we did something positive that leveraged our own expertise. We knew how stories can shift culture and that we needed to tell more stories about outstanding leaders of colour who have achieved extraordinary success across a number of professions.

Two and a half years in the making, A Colourful View From The Top will be published in partnership with Pulitzer-prize winning Little, Brown on Thursday 16th March 2023.

Our collective future on this planet is dependent on young diverse talent climbing all the way to the top to help make a more balanced, more inclusive and fairer world for all. To ensure the book reaches the hands of those who need it most, TwentyFirstCenturyBrand has committed to funding a copy of the book for every UK majority-minority state secondary school.

Now I'm asking for your help…

We need you to help us get a copy of the book in EVERY UK state secondary school library (approximately 4,100 schools).

I have kick started this GoFundMe campaign with a personal donation of £8,200 (10% of the total fundraising target).

We want this book to reach as many people as it needs to. We’re not in this to make money: the royalties as Curator are 10% of the RRP (£20), and all profits will be plowed back into this initiative as we continue to scale. This isn’t about sales, it’s about impact. The young people that need this most, won’t be able to afford to buy a copy of the book.

Thank you for reading this far. Together we can help inspire the next generation of leaders needed to create a fairer future for all - Jonathan Mildenhall
