Colorado Fire Destroyed Everything for Madison
Donation protected
I am Madison's mom and I am reaching out far from her, in Georgia where her dad and I live. Her smile, since December 30th, has faded and been replaced by sadness and worry. It is hard to be asking on behalf of my precious girl for assistance at this time. The Superior, Colorado, wind fueled fire (reported as high as 115 mph) on December 30 completely destroyed her entire neighborhood (Sagamore) and every single thing she owns. This fire has been the worst in Colorado history to ravage a community. The fire moved so fast that within 2 hours everything was gone. This picture shows the destruction before the recent snow. This is where she lived. The home is owned by a young couple who put their heart and soul and sweat into making this a great place to live. Luckily, everyone is safe. There was no time, however, to rescue anything except the dogs. How does someone come back from nothing?
One would think you could rely on insurance and your savings to start putting your life back together. It seems insurance is going to take a while and savings disappears quickly. Just buying the basics, to shower and prepare to go back to work, clothes enough to get you through an entire week without having to wash them, food, and not even having a place to put it all - this I cannot believe has happened to my girl. At 26 one should not know such devastation. But she is strong, has great family and friends, and will get through this one day at a time. Many people have reached out to myself and to her, offering support. This is why I have created this page for her. When you have nothing, you don't need everything. You only need some things -things to feel you can make it through the day, the week, the months while your life gets put back together. Your help will allow her to buy clothes, toiletries, food, furniture, bedding, etc. and provide for an apartment deposit and rent. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. Whether you are family, friend, acquaintance, or stranger, she is more than grateful for anything you can give, no matter how small. It is also much appreciated if you can share this post amongst anyone you know with a giving heart. Thank you. See report here. Colorado Fire Video
