Hello, my name is Sophie! I recently lost my father and had to switch schools and cities. I was so attached to my home because I was on the color guard team at my school. I had just gotten captain of my team and had such a fantastic start to my third season, when crisis hit and I had to relocate. I relocated to an area where my sport, my passion, really isn’t popular at all. So, in order to bring some normalcy in my life, I auditioned for a Marching Band and Color Guard. I got a spot on the team, but then the tuition information is sent to me. I have to pay around 5,100 dollars to be on this team, as they pay to feed me, transport me, house me, and provide me with equipment in order to perform. Performing was all I had known in my life, and that was taken away from me. So now, I’m pursuing what I love, and what makes me feel connected to my dad, as he had been a major part of that community, but I may need some help.
