Hi, my name is April and I am raising funds for my sister Theresa Born. 

Stage 3 colorectal cancer. The worse news. My sisters got this news February 2024. She has gone through severe chemo and radiation therapy. Today, May 19th she is having surgery to remove the bad section of her colon. She’s been in surgery for 3 hours now. She’s probably going to have a colostomy bag. My sister is the strongest person I know and I’m praying she does well. She is a beautician and does beautiful hair styles and color. She has lost some of her clientele because she has missed so much work due to the cancer. As tired and as bad as she felt she did work a couple days a week just to make a little bit of money. Now she’s going to be out of work for another 1 to 2 months. As of right now, she doesn’t know if her insurance is going to pay for any of it. They have denied it and told her she would have to appeal it, but it would take 30 days for the appeal. She does not have 30 days that she can wait and they don’t seem to care. So for right now, we are assuming we are going to have to pay the hospital bills. I can only imagine how many thousands of dollars this is going to cost. Like all of us, the bills and the mortgage go on even when you’re sick. The money will be used to pay for medical bills and her mortgage.
