Colon Aroca, loving Husband, Father, & Grandfather

Dear family and friends, we are reaching out to you with heavy hearts. On Saturday December 16, 2023, our loving Abuelo Colon went into cardiac arrest and was admitted into St. Joseph's Hospital in Stockton, CA. Initially the idea of him making a recovery was open, but within his first 2 days in the ER and ICU, he suffered 2 more cardiac arrest events. After repeated testing and multiple prognosis from different physicians, it was determined that he suffered devasting anoxic brain injury and his chance of recovery into the full of life, conscious, aware state he once was in is no longer a reality. This has happened very unexpectedly, and we as a family were not prepared for such a hardship. My mother is his primary caretaker and on top of this unexpected loss, she is also dealing with her own serious health issues. My Abuelo Colon was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, who loved to be surrounded by the ones he loved, and the ones that loved him. His passion for cooking, music, sports, and hosting intimate family events leaves a hole deep in all of our hearts. We want to give a heartfelt thank you to all of the love, support and visits we have received.

Unfortunately, our grandparents were unprepared for something like this. As many of you know, the costs incurred with death can be financially taxing on the immediate family. We're doing our best to pull our resources together to honor our Abuelo's final wishes. Our family is asking our friends and community for any monetary assistance that you may be able to contribute. We will be using all funds towards the cost of funeral and burial services for our Abuelo Colon. We again, want to thank you all for all the love and support received.
