Collin Swartz

Hi, my name is Jake, and I am fundraising for my brother Collin. On May 15th, Collin got into a severe motorcycle accident. He was in the ICU for over one month with two broken arms and legs. Luckily there were no significant head injuries or internal damage. Collin is finally out of the ICU into a regular hospital bed. The doctors amputated his right leg above his knee and his right hand. He doesn't have feeling in his right arm, but we are hopeful that future surgeries will give him some mobility. He is fortunate to be alive and has good spirits about the whole situation. When he leaves the hospital, he must heal at a nursing home until he can stand with his entire body weight on his left leg. Once he can do that, he will be sent to an acute rehabilitation center to be fitted for his prosthetics. Collin will then begin rehab to walk and use his left arm again. Collin is lucky to have excellent medical insurance to pay most of the bills, however the rehab and prosthetics will be costly. When Collin gets home, it will be a tough transition.  The house needs to be updated to be handicap accessible for Collin to safely live in his home.  With his positive attitude and some outside assistance, we are hopeful that he can lead a relatively normal life.  Any help that you can offer with Collin's future expenses is appreciated by Collin and my whole family!  Thank you!
