Hello, dear family and friends. For those that don't know me, my name is Mariajose Montoya Talavera, fourth of five kids and a first-generation college student. I am an international student from Honduras. I had the opportunity to study in the United States at Piedmont University and join their cycling team. I am majoring in middle grades education and plan to be a Spanish teacher. I am trying to raise funds to pay for my fourth semester.

My family has suffered a devastating economic impact in the last few years, so it is important for me to be able to raise funds because it is the only way I can continue my education at Piedmont University and earn a degree. It is my only chance to continue my career in the United States and help support my family after graduating. My dream is to become a teacher and help students learn Spanish, learn about the Hispanic culture, and help kids struggling with learning English.

All contributions will go directly to my balance for this semester, and if any funds are left over, I will be putting them away to help pay for my next semester. Every contribution helps and is greatly appreciated! Thank you all in advance for sharing this, contributing, or both!

Hola, queridos familiares y amigos. Para aquellos que no me conocen, mi nombre es Mariajose Montoya Talavera, cuarta de cinco hermanos y estudiante universitaria de primera generación. Soy una estudiante internacional de Honduras. Tuve la oportunidad de venir a estudiar a los Estados Unidos en la Universidad de Piedmont y al mismo tiempo unirme a su equipo de ciclismo. Me estoy especializando en educación de grado medio y planeo ser profesora de español. Estoy intentando recaudar fondos para pagarme el cuarto semestre.

Mi familia ha sufrido un impacto económico en los últimos años, por eso, es importante para mí poder recaudar fondos, ya que sería la única manera de poder continuar mis estudios en la Universidad de Piedmont, obtener un título y, tras graduarme, ayudar a mi familia. Mi sueño es convertirme en maestra y ayudar a los estudiantes a aprender español, aprender sobre la cultura hispana y ayudar a los niños que tienen dificultades para aprender inglés.
