college tuition and accident fees

hello everyone, it’s taken me a while to ask for any help because I truly believed i could navigate all of this on my own but i have come to a breaking point. my name is niniola, i’m a 22 year old nigerian student and young adult, living in america. prior to february 2023, i was living and working in dallas, texas but my job hired me part time so i was earning little to nothing, i pay my own college tuition because my parents can’t afford to but unfortunately my job wasn’t even paying enough for me to be able to save up for school. i searched for other jobs around me for months but all to no avail. one fateful day, i was telling a close friend about my situation and she told me about her job, she lives and works in chicago so she told me that her job pays really well and was looking for people to hire at the time. she advised me to come over and work in chicago temporarily so i can save up money for my tuition, i didn’t have any other options so i decided to go ahead. i went to apply to her job as soon as i got here and they let me know there was a training i would have to do before i start working but they kept postponing this ‘training’, and i didn’t have enough money to go back to dallas anymore at this point, i had spent all i had moving to chicago in hopes that i would be able to start work soon and i would make all the money i spent back in no time. unfortunately, the job i applied to wasted all of march, i didn’t get to do the training till the first week of april and then i started work the second week of april, only for my car to start giving me issues on the first week of working. i was on my way to work and it stopped on the highway, i had to call a tow truck in order to get it off the road that very day. coincidentally, an old friend gave me a call that same day and while i was narrating my predicament, he told me he has a car he’s not really using and can lend it to me for the time being, i would just have to take about two days off work and drive a couple hours to go pick up the car from it’s current location and change the tires so i can be able to use it. i decided to do that but i had no idea that my job would have a problem with the fact that i took time off, i was told it was my last day at work just last thursday, my offense being those two days i had called off work. according to the job, i’m a new employee and i’m not supposed to take any days off within the first 3 months but i didn’t know this prior to when i took time off. i went to the office today to plead with them and on my way back home this evening, i got into an accident and was given tickets totaling $2500 (i attached a picture of this) the person whose car i borrowed has significant damage and i’m physically unhurt but mentally exhausted. i intend to pay for the ticket and fix this person’s car with the money i am able to raise but i can’t do this on my own anymore, all the help i need is financial and i know everyone is working and trying to make ends meet just like me. i don’t know who to turn to or what to do, my mom is a single parent and she suffers from really high blood pressure and other health complications so i don’t want to worsen her health by burdening her with these issues. i honestly can’t afford everything on my own, i still have my college tuition to pay, collective assistance and kindness is all i can ask for. any and every penny i get would be of so much help, i’m one to go through everything and pull through hurdles by myself but i’ve been really suffering in silence, i need all the help i can get and i would genuinely appreciate it all.
