College Preparatory School of America Mock Trial

Hi, my name is Alberto Filipponi and I am raising money for the College Preparatory School of America Mock Trial Team. CPSA is located in Lombard, Illinois. We are a small private Muslim K-12 School. I am so excited to announce to you that the CPSA Mock Trial Team has won the Illinois State Bar Association’s Mock Trial Championship for the first time in our history. The ISBA Mock Trial is one of the most rigorous academic competitions in the state where a team of 8 to 10 students must present attorney questioning and witness testimony for both the plaintiff/prosecution and the defense in a fictitious case written by the ISBA. After competing against Rolling Meadows and Carmel Catholic, CPSA made the Final 8 for the third time in the past 4 years. In the Finals, CPSA went against state powerhouse Adlai Stevenson High School. Stevenson placed 2nd in state. This impressive occurred while the students went without food or water as they fasted in observance of Ramadan. Past winners include St Charles North, Evanston High School, Timothy Christian, York High School, and Hinsdale Central. For our small school to be mentioned amongst some of the larger and prestigious schools in Illinois is truly an honor. As Illinois State Champions, CPSA qualified to become the first ever Muslim School to compete in the National High School Mock Trial Competition held in Wilmington Delaware May 2 through 5. Funds raised will be used to cover transportation, registration, and lodging for the team. Please help our wonderful students represent Illinois in the National Competition!
