Hi, my name is Destiny, I'm 17 years old. I'm currently a graduate of the class of 2020 from a public high school in New York City. I’ve committed to a college and plan on dorming. I recently decided on making my major, nursing.

I have a background story on why I choose nursing as my major. Being a nurse means a lot to me, one of the main reasons is my mother. She is a very passionate single mother who always puts her children first. Sadly she is diagnosed with IIH (Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension) and many other critical health issues. Knowing my mother is currently ill and unable to do as much as she would like to, I wanted to be a nurse to be able to understand her and how I can help her during her moments of weakness. An example is my mother catches seizures and I want to be able to help her the best way I possibly can when she is in that state.  

At the moment she is currently financially unable to help provide some type of income for my college funds. I received full financial aid that is available and took out a loan of 9,500 to cover the price of my housing and meal plan, but I still have a large amount that I need to pay for. Your donation would be able to help me pay for the rest of my out of pocket expenses for my dorm and meal plan that needs to be paid before the end of the semester, also your donations would be a great support to pay for my books and transportation and other financial costs that will be needed for my stay at my college.
