College Fund for Single Mom From Africa for BU

Please help us send this beautiful, kind and intelligent single mom of one, to graduate school at Boston University!
My Mom and I met Ivy last summer while on Safari in Zimbabwe. At the time, she was an assistant manager for a Safari campground in Mana Pools. She was lovely and we quickly became close friends. When we came back from our trip we continued talking with Ivy. She told us about her passion for the hotel industry. She visited us in Boston this past March because Ivy was invited to speak at a conference for Boston University about her experience running a campground in Zimbabwe. She quickly fell in love with Boston. Having never left Africa before, she expressed to us how many opportunities she could have if she could live and study here. She imagined a new life for her and her daughter. Ivy applied to the BU graduate hospitality program and got in with a large scholarship. Even though the scholarship helped a lot, she is not able to pay for the rest of her tuition. In addition to this, Zimbabwe doesn’t have a great banking system, and she is not able to take out any student loans. Also, due to Covid, her safari camp is closed this year so she is not able to work. Ivy is an incredible person, mother and truly kind individual. Please help Ivy pay for a graduate degree at Boston University so that she can expand her career and make a better life and role model for her daughter.

“My name is Ivy Mtetwa. I am a 29-year-old woman with a dream to inspire those I meet. Studying for my Masters at Boston University will not only be great for my career, but a huge accomplishment for the African rural community I grew up in. It’s my dream to be a part of the hospitality industry. Please help make my dream come true by contributing towards my tuition. I have a daughter who is 6 years old. I want her to grow up knowing that dreams can come true. It is not everyday that we get a chance to change our lives, and I believe this my chance to prove that to my daughter and myself that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.”
