College fund for Jaden Ecklund

Michael and Dawn Ecklund were truly best friends. They shared many things in common but the most important thing in their lives is their 13 year old daughter, Jaden.
It was Jaden's 13th birthday on August 5th and unfortunately Dawn had an important surgery scheduled the same day. The surgery was at the University of Iowa and not considered life threatening. Dawn posted this touching message to Jaden the morning of her surgery:
"I can't believe how fast 13 years have flown by..... Happy Birthday Jaden we love you more then you will ever know! Sorry this may not be the Birthday you hoped for but we got this because we have some extra help like#HawkeyestrongandGpaEcklund"
The surgery took an unexpected turn for the tragic and Dawn passed away later that day. Obviously Michael, Jaden and family are devastated by the news. Dawn was the rock of their lives and ran her own daycare business in the Ecklund home.

The emotional impact on the Ecklund family is obvious but the financial impact on Michael and Jaden is also tremendous. Michael is one of the hardest working men that I have seen in my 20 years at Bayer. He would never ask for any financial help and would work as hard as it takes to make a great life for Jaden. I know that he has great hopes for her future and even hard workers could use a little help. I know that many of the friends, family and coworkers are looking for a way to pay tribute to the memory of Dawn through supporting Jaden's future.
