We are writing to you in hopes that you consider donating to a College Fund that the Scituate Gridiron Club has established for Gianni Cannady, one of Scituate High School’s Varsity Football players. Gianni’s mother, Stacey passed away this past Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020. She was diagnosed with Lymphoma over Thanksgiving of last year and fought a courageous battle.
In the words of college football Hall of Famer, Lou Holtz :
Always Have 4 Things In Life
Something to do.
Something to love.
Something to hope for.
Something to believe in.
As a single mother, Stacey had all of that for her son. She created a strong foundation for success early on for Gianni defined by her commitment, dedication and love for him. Success that would be attributed to all the memories, moments and lessons they shared together. Even though at times the commute from Boston can be a long one, she would always be a supportive presence at Gianni’s school and sporting events. The team and community have felt her love and support over the years and this is what all of us will remember about her.
We know these are challenging and unprecedented times for everyone. Anything you can do in support of Gianni as he navigates what is ahead would be most appreciated. Together as a team, school and community - we can honor Stacey by continuing Gianni on the path that she envisioned for him.

Sincerely -
The Scituate Gridiron Club
