My brother, Dan Bernard, was taken from this Earth January 12th. He leaves behind two teenage children, Madison (16) and Elias (15), who are just devastated. Dan loved them, more than anything else in this world and had wished to provide them with more.

For all of Dan’s big heart, kindness, and love for his kids, it has not been easy for them. Dan fought some long and hard years against a demonic disease. Addiction had destroyed any semblance of normalcy for him and his children’s lives. Dan fought hard against the disease and made some real progress, sober the last six months. Over these past months, we saw smiles return to Dan’s face. We saw hopes, dreams, and wishes return. He was on a good path and was starting to think toward the future. Dan was winning battles every day and set out to repair relationships. He knew it was uphill but wanted the destination at the top of the climb. He was making that progress when he was suddenly taken from us. All his newly fought for hopes and dreams, his goals – cut short. One of his goals, to build a college fund for both Madison and Elias. Dan just recently created that account and made the initial deposits. I ask you to help Dan realize his goal, to help Madison and Elias with their future. They are great kids who want to tackle this world. Please help in raising a college fund to give Madison and Elias a start, to help progress the goal Dan started.
