College For Clann Kelly

On August 19th, we were all stunned to learn of the unexpected passing of our dear friend, John “JK” Kelly from a massive heart attack. His sudden departure from our lives has quickly reminded us of how fragile life can be and how our goals and dreams to provide for our loved one’s can be cut short. The outpouring of love and respect that has been triggered by this tragic event has been remarkable. Through a “life well lived”, JK has touched and positively influenced so many people. As a devoted father, son, brother, husband, teacher, coach, lifeguard, EMT, teammate, volunteer, and friend; JK genuinely led his life caring for and helping everyone who was fortunate enough to have crossed life’s path with him.

My name is Steve Hefele, and as a close friend for almost 50 years, it is my honor to begin this fund raiser on behalf of his two beloved daughters, Caroline and Catherine. As a scholar, academic, and lifetime learner, JK would have done all in his power to provide his girls with the opportunity to complete their college education. Without him here to provide these resources it is my objective to help raise the necessary funds to see this goal come true.

Caroline is about to begin her 2nd year at University College in Dublin, Ireland. Just before returning from a visit to Ireland to visit his oldest daughter, JK expressed his wish for Caroline to complete her studies abroad with the support of his extended family living in Dublin and Galway. Catherine is about to begin her senior year at Ocean Lakes High School in VA Beach. She is just beginning the process of visiting potential institutions of higher learning and looking forward to all that college life has to offer her and her future.

I am requesting your donations in support of JK’s family and this worthy cause. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and humbly accepted by myself and will be passed on to the family for the sole purpose of the girls’ further education and related services. These collaborative efforts will undoubtedly contribute to the lasting legacy of our dear friend, JK.
