College Financial Aid For Aspiring Jazz Student

I’ve always known that I wanted to be a musician. I actually started playing drums when I was 2 years old. My parents noticed my gift and began to nurture my talent. They were very selective in choosing my middle school, Hardy Middle School because of their excellent music program. While at Hardy in addition to my academics I continued my love for music and joined the school’s jazz band and jazz orchestra. It was at Hardy where I realized that I wanted to study music at a higher level.
For High School, I set my sights on one of the most prestigious music and art schools in the country, The Duke Ellington School of the Arts. Of course, Ellington is known for its music and arts program but it is also known for its academic program as well. At Ellington, they are first and foremost evaluating your potential and passion for your instrument, your musicality, and your willingness to work hard to move to the next level. At Ellington, I had the opportunity to play in multiple ensembles. I also had the pleasure of sharing the stage and opening for artists such as Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and the National Symphony Orchestra, Trombone Shorty, Wynton Marsalis, and Davey Yarborough at such venues as the Kennedy Center, the Lincoln Theatre, and the Howard Theatre.
Currently as a 2nd-year student at the University of Cincinnati (UC) – College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) which is one of the best schools for percussion and drum set in the country I’ve been able to continue to develop and perform in all areas of contemporary music and pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a percussionist/drummer professional musician. In order to continue my studies at UC – CCM, I’m in need of additional financial support. If you can help me by donating I would greatly appreciate it. Please share and spread the word.
