College Charity Challenge for Big Man Big Heart

My name is Tyler Paul and I am a football long snapper for the University of Central Florida (UCF). Throughout October, GoFundMe is hosting a College Charity Challenge to show the power of giving on college campuses nationwide. I hope you'll join me in this challenge by donating to Big Man Big Heart to support my initiative- Bigger Day for Britt's Bunch.

Britts Bunch helps bring together several young adults with special needs to experience the joy that is college football. Last year, we hosted our first ever Britt's Bunch on campus and it was a huge success! This season, we hope to bring even more deserving physically and mentally challenged young adults and kids suffering from sickle cell and leukemia to the Bounce House for the Navy game on November 19th.

I'm inspired to do this by my relationship with Britt Garcias, also known to many as the UCF Knight's football team's spirited "Little Sister." Britt has been one of the most influential and inspiring people I have ever met. Our friendship started when several of my teammates and I attended a volunteer event at her church in 2019. Little did I know how that event would lead me to one of my most incredible friendships. Britt and I have created a bond through our hearts of service, generosity, and of course, our love for UCF Knights football. After every game, win or lose, I know I will get a big hug from her and a reminder of how proud she is of me. Britt brings a level of energy to UCF Football that is truly unmatched. To know Britt is to know joy in the purest form. We often hear the phrase "football is more than a sport," but I never truly understood what that meant until I met Britt. She has shown me that being on a football team can create a community and serve and inspire others. Her love for UCF football runs deep, and I am so grateful that it brought us together.

More about Tyler:

Tyler is a senior long snapper at the University of Central Florida. He grew up in Clearwater, Florida where he attended Clearwater Central Catholic High School. In addition to football, Tyler was also a member of the wrestling and track and field teams. During his time at CCC, he was taught the value of service. Every year Tyler would attend his school’s trip to Give Kids the World and while volunteering, he grew a soft spot for young adults and children with illnesses and disabilities. As an athlete, he and his teammates were looked up to by these young adults like "superheroes." At CCC, Tyler met one of his best friends and teammates, Dillan Gibbons. Dillan started the nonprofit “Big Man Big Heart” and asked Tyler to be the Ambassador for UCF, and Big Day for Britt’s Bunch was born. Outside of football, Tyler enjoys both fresh and saltwater fishing, playing video games, and hanging out with his teammates.
