College Bound Young Man Needs Our Help!
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
When my daughter was in the 9th grade, she made a friend with this curious, kind, and smart young kid that I immediately simply loved. I have watched this kid grow into an amazing young man who is passionate, astute, and diligent. He's grown to be an exceptional person despite the challenges of being shuffled between family members during primary school, being without a mother due to her incarceration, seeing family members struggle with substance abuse, and being raised by a single father who unfortunately only reached a 10th-grade education.
Now it's this young man's time to flourish and build the foundation to accomplish his dreams by going off to college to study journalism and one day accomplishing his goal as a sports journalist. Against all odds and the negative influences he could have succumbed to, he stayed steadfast in his studies and his lofty goals. He managed to become a high school sports journalist, a football player, basketball player, and maintained a 3.2 GPA. All his hard work paid off as he was accepted to several top universities including his dream school.
Only one thing now stands in his way, the ability to pay for college tuition. He was offered a small merit-based scholarship to the university of his choice but not nearly enough to cover the full cost of tuition, books, and housing. He applied for educational loans, however, he needed co-signers but no one in his family was eligible. We cannot allow this exceptional young man's dream to be deferred.
He has a passion for sports and writing. He grew up admiring the journalistic talents of Adrian Wojnarowski, Stephen A. Smith, Scott Hanson, and Michael Wilbon. He noted that he would love to picture families gathering to discuss his take on sports teams and events.
How You Can Make a Difference:
My friends and I are humbly asking for your support in helping him achieve this goal. Every contribution, no matter the size, will bring him one step closer to his dreams. Your donation will directly impact his ability to enroll in college, access quality education, and pursue his chosen path.
