Hello! My name is Carter and I'm fundraising for a college band trip next year! This trip is to the Baltics region in Europe. We recently learned in my college music program about The Singing Revolution, a series of events from 1987 to 1991 that led to the restoration of independence of the three Soviet-occupied Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania at the end of the Cold War. During the trip we will learn more about the people and region first-hand, and have the opportunity to perform and watch music performers from the area. Learning about this trip and learning about the singing revolution that happened reminded me of why I want a future in music. I know and have seen how much power music can truly have and I want to be apart of or make music that has an impact whether it be big or small.
