Colleen's pup Zoey needs surgery
Donation protected
My name is Kim McGovern and Colleen is my special needs sister. We have lived together in our townhome for 30+ years. We have a very special sisterly bond, and I would do anything for her.
Recently, Colleen's healthy, happy, energetic , playful, funny 10 yr old Shih-Tzu/ Bichon pup Zoey (ZoZo to Colleen), tore her ACL knee ligament in her hind leg. She is unable to walk on it, or put it down, and it is painful for her. We carry her up and down stairs.
The good news is that it is repairable with surgery. The estimated cost for the surgery is $2600. Colleen is devastated, sad, worried. Her "routine" has been drastically changed, and routine is important to people with special needs.
Colleen has been a client with ProAct, her employment/
transportation company, and an employee at Casper's Cherokee
of Eagan for 25+ yrs. She enjoyed her job and co-workers. Due
to Covid 19, both places closed, and she has not returned to work.
She has not received a paycheck since and does not qualify for
unemployment. Her tax return will be minimal.
During this lonely Covid 19 pandemic, Zoey has been Colleen's
constant companion, her rock, her shadow, her everything!
Walks, playing, watching TV, listening to Polka, and even reading .
Zoey has been a godsend! Their bond amazes me, they are true
"soul mates".
Please help these soul mates get to a somewhat "normal routine".
Any amount will be GREATLY APPRECIATED, $5-10. It all helps!
Surgery is scheduled early May 2021. In the mean time, Zoey is being medicated for pain control. Thank you!
