Lets all get together help Colleen through a difficult time. At a routine eye exam late last week she received the worst news imaginable - a brain tumor so large it is forcing a massive amount of pressure toward the front of her head and causing her vision problems. After a battery of tests she will undergo two surgeries (December 9th, December 10th)  to remove the tumor. All of our prayers and positive thoughts and energy need to be with her.

In typical Colleen fashion she is not expecting to slow down one bit and plans on walking out of the hospital as soon as humanly possible! Everyone who knows Colleen knows how determined, selfless and flat out how tough she is and I am confident she will come through this in the best manner imaginable.

To give everyone an insight into her spirits - her very first thoughts when she shared her situation with me were with a young boy she is currently fostering. She was so disappointed that her care of this 7 year old boy was going to be interrupted because she felt like she was really making strides with him and could see the positive impact she was having on him already. At a time of such terrible prognosis and despair her only concerns were for the children she is currently caring for. Along these same lines the only time I know she has been emotional about the situation was when she tried to describe to me what it was like trying to inform Ethan, Cory and Abby about her condition.

Colleen is a fighter! But she will need our help in any way possible. Please consider helping through donation of time, effort to help and financial contributions. These funds will help her with current and future medical care, displaced income and all of the expenses that arise with such an unplanned and life changing event.
