Colleen Doyle Medical Expenses and Care
Donation protected
My lovely sister-in-law Colleen has been struggling with migraines on and off for the last several years. On 12/22 she was admitted to a hospital near Saint Louis. Based on MRI imaging, she was diagnosed with a tumor in her brain near her pituitary gland. On 12/28 she had a virtual appointment with a neurosurgeon at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The neurosurgeons at Mayo believe that she has a cancerous chordoma and will need surgery immediately. A chordoma is a tumor that arises from bone, in her case, the skull bones. Colleen’s surgery is scheduled in Minnesota for January 3rd. It is anticipated to be an eight-hour surgery and she will need some reconstruction of her skull.
This surgery will hopefully provide Colleen with a full resection of the tumor, but she will likely need radiation and follow-up visits. Colleen and Nathan, her husband, and their 9-month-old daughter, sweet Maggie will be traveling to Minnesota with her family for surgery, recovery and follow-up care. This will be very expensive as they are responsible for their lodgings and neither Nathan nor Colleen will be able to work while she is in recovery and during all the follow-up needed. And, of course, as we know, medical costs will be substantial. Any extra support that you can offer them during this difficult time to ease their load is guaranteed to be met with the utmost gratitude and humility. Love to you all.
