Colleen Cassidy Murch Memorial Fund

It's difficult to sum up the lively and vibrant person that Colleen Cassidy Murch was in only a few words, but she was a lovely, creative, generous soul with a true servant's heart. She was always quick to help others, even those she did not know well, and she would literally give the clothes off her back and the food off her table to a friend in need. She was a gifted artist, a talented baker, a fiercely loving mother to Camden and Cassidy, and a devoted wife to Mike. Colleen was also a compassionate Christian and active church family member of Grace United Methodist, as well as a dear friend to hundreds of people in our Madison, AL community, in her home state of California, and places around the world. She had a heart full of charity, a brilliant mind, and she never stopped caring for her family and friends. Her untimely loss will be felt by so many!

In July of 2019, Colleen suffered a debilitating stroke while on vacation in Georgia with her family. Her husband Mike tirelessly worked to get her in to see specialists and therapists to help alleviate the myriad problems caused by her stroke. Then, in early January of this year, Colleen contacted the COVID-19 virus, and had to be admitted to the hospital. Though her heart and her will were strong, her body continued to fail, even after moving into the ICU and being put on a ventilator. After nearly a month in Intensive Care, and exhaustive measures taken by the medical professionals there, Colleen's suffering was ended and her soul joined her Heavenly Father in paradise.

Throughout her entire ordeal, Colleen's faith was strong, and her trust in God never wavered. Though Mike and the children have had their faith tested by her loss, they are secure in the knowledge that Colleen is whole again and at peace with her Lord and Savior. As a dear friend of Colleen's and the Murch family, many in our community have asked me what they can do to help? So after much prayer and discussion with close friends of the family, we decided to set up this memorial page to honor Colleen's memory with donations from anyone wishing to help. From medical bills to end of life arrangements, the financial burden is not something a grieving family should have to add to their sorrow. Several friends had also inquired about setting aside funds for Camden's and Cassidy Grace's college education, and that can be done here as well.

To know Colleen was to love her. We will all miss her feisty spirit and her warm heart, and we can honor her with this show of kindness and compassion to her family now. Thank you all so much for reading Colleen's story, and for considering a donation to her family in her honor. We ask that you also continue to keep the Murch and Cassidy families in your prayers.
We love you Colleen!
