I never thought I would see myself setting up a go fund me but Hurricane Ian completely destroyed my parents home in Port Charlotte Florida. They lost everything, and like many, have no insurance to cover any replacement. Insurance on an older mobile home is impossible to afford for seniors in Florida living on Social Security. Many have reached out asking how to help. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. If you ever met my parents, you know they would share their last meal with a stranger if they were hungry. They are safe and staying with me for now until they can figure things out. It will be a tough road with their life savings now gone and only social security to live on. They have applied for FEMA but don’t know how long any aid will take. Their whole community was pretty much wiped out with most of the 550 units destroyed.
