Hello dear customers and community,
Collected Works needs your support. We are faced with a difficult reality: raise funds to cover our baseline expenses during the pandemic, or close our doors for good.
Collected Works has proudly been part of the local Ann Arbor community for more than 40 years. We have become friends and shared stories of our families. We have watched our children grow up. And now some of us have grandchildren to cherish. Some of you, we have just met and welcomed you to our Collected Works family.
Irene is so honored that you “get us,” and understand Clothing as Art truly enriches our life, because we are all beautiful.
The community and everything local define us. We give back by supporting so many local theaters, schools, and fund-raisers. We prioritize local commerce — patronizing our neighbors has shaped us since we opened in Downtown Ann Arbor in 1977.
Irene and family and staff treasure our connection to you.
But now, with the Coronavirus situation, we are in a perilous place. A small business runs on very narrow margins. We count on foot traffic to run smoothly. We are, during this crisis, closed to the public.
Of course we never imagined that this would happen. We so appreciate those of you that have already called to order gift certificates since the world ground to a halt. Sadly, this trickle of business will not sustain us. We are running out of cash to pay all of our bills.
Your support will go to rent and salaries and utilities and inventory previously purchased and already on hand.
We want to stay open and to continue sharing personal moments and beautiful clothing with you. We can’t wait to see you again.
