Notre sœur Monia se bat pour sa vie.

Elle affronte un carcinome urothélial logé au poumon (métastasique de stade 4) avec une détermination qui force l’admiration, mais aucun combat de cette ampleur ne devrait se mener seule.

Son plus grand souhait est de tenir la promesse faite à notre maman avant son départ : honorer sa vie et mener, avec courage et ténacité, un combat sans relâche contre cette maladie qui l’a elle-même emportée cette année.

Chaque jour apporte son lot de traitements, d’examens, de fatigue et d’incertitudes. À cette épreuve humaine, cette atroce maladie, s’ajoute une réalité implacable : les coûts.

Les soins essentiels, les suppléments, les examens et médicaments non couverts, les nombreux déplacements et les approches complémentaires nécessaires à son parcours représentent un fardeau financier immense. L’acquisition d’un appareil de chambre hyperbare — un outil crucial dans son cheminement de soins — dépasse à elle seule 8000 $.

En parallèle, la maladie a considérablement réduit les revenus familiaux. Peu à peu, l’angoisse financière s’installe, venant alourdir un combat déjà profondément éprouvant.

Fundraiser – Support for Our Sister, Monia Proulx

Today, with heavy hearts but filled with hope, we ask you to pause for a moment.

Our sister Monia is fighting for her life.

She is battling stage 4 metastatic urothelial carcinoma in the lung with a strength and determination that inspire deep admiration—but no one should have to face a fight of this magnitude alone.

Her greatest wish is to honor the promise she made to our mother before her passing: to honor her life and to fight, with courage and unwavering determination, this disease that took her from us earlier this year.

Each day brings its share of treatments, tests, exhaustion, and uncertainty. Alongside this immense human struggle comes a harsh reality: the financial burden.

Essential care, supplements, uncovered tests and medications, frequent travel, and complementary therapies required along her journey represent overwhelming costs. The purchase of a hyperbaric chamber—an essential tool in her care—alone exceeds $8,000.

At the same time, the illness has significantly reduced family income. Gradually, financial stress adds to an already exhausting and heartbreaking battle.

This fundraiser exists for one reason only: to allow Monia to continue fighting with dignity, without having to carry this burden on her own.
