Collateral Damage: Ellen Needs Help

Hi, I'm Ellen.

I am the literal paycheck to paycheck, I'll die at mt desk because I'll never be able to afford to quit person. At the first financial mishap and I could be without a place live. It's been my reality for a while now, but I've always made it through.

On March 5th, I received the news the government had terminated my company's contract at the convenience of the government, effective immediately. So not only am I without a job, but so are those that were on the contract. The company that I worked for will more than likely be shuttering their doors because this was the last contract keeping it holding on. There is no severance, I will not be paid out for my many, many weeks of leave.

I have never been without a job. Here I am now with no job and no backup plan. If you know me, you know how prideful I am. I go without if it means asking for any sort of help. I would never do this if I weren't out of options, but I cannot go without a place to live. I'm asking for help to keep a roof over my head until I can find a new job or at least until I can figure out my next step.

I'm embarrassed, I'm scared and incredibly humbled.
