Help Find Colin(Update: Found!)
Donation protected
This was originally created to help me with the costs associated with finding my little brother who had been missing since late August. The resources needed for travel/hotel/rental car costs, private investigator(s) etc.. however it was more of a emergency plan if I truly ended up needing it. I never published or shared it on any social media and with the help of a few friends and one family member, I was able to make due.
However after the trip to L.A. hanging flyers/talking to people he worked with, speaking to all police departments, & retaining a P.I.—Colin was still missing and we had little to no leads. I also posted a thread on an LSU sports website called Tigerdroppings, specifically on a forum I frequented for over a decade that’s not sports related called the OT. And after being missing for almost 5 months, it was that thread that ended up finding him. A poster on the OT found a YouTube video of him being interviewed by a guy who creates content by interviewing people who have lost their way in life. The poster (Shout out to Tim/LSUEnvy) emailed me the video and there was my brother (looking a bit rough) but alive.
I was able to reach out to the man that made it and finally get in contact with my brother. I flew back out to L.A. and although he didn’t have ID to board a plane, I rented a car and drove us home. We arrived the night before Christmas Eve, so it was truly a Christmas miracle and awesome to see my family get to hug him and visit for the weekend.
He was accepted into a 30 day in-patient treatment facility (no insurance but private pay installments) that he recently completed with high marks from his counselors. He transitioned into a highly recommended outpatient home that he will be staying at while continuing to receive medical treatment and additional help as he gets back on his feet. He has a long way to go, but has the right attitude and mindset taking it one day at a time. Thanks to everyone that has helped both financially, through prayer, valuable advice and all of the good vibes and kind words of encouragement. I hope this new year brings many blessings to you and your family just as Colin’s return has done for us.
And Geaux Tigers!
