Hello, I’m Colin.

I’m raising funds for a one-of-a-kind surgery that would profoundly improve my quality of life, heal decades-old trauma, and finally let me feel whole in my own body. This is a deeply personal journey, and I’m grateful you’ve decided to click on my campaign.

BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT - WHY THIS MATTERS TO ME

When I was an infant, a decision was made that permanently altered my body without my consent. I was circumcised. I didn’t understand what that meant until I was 11 years old. Learning that a part of my body had been removed, something so intimate, broke something inside me. It seeded a grief that shaped my adolescence, my self-image, and eroded all trust in the people closest to me.

That grief grew heavier over the years. I struggled with feelings of violation, anger, and a fractured sense of identity. When I finally gathered the courage to approach my family about these feelings hopes of having my pains assuaged, I was met with dismissal, deflection, and blame. The pain of being told my devastation was an overreaction cut so deeply that, after two serious crises in my youth, I ultimately made the difficult choice to go no contact with both sides of my family out of preservation for my wellbeing.

For a long time, I felt completely alone. But slowly, I found others who understood. I discovered a community of people working to restore what was taken from them and I began my own restoration journey.

IF RESTORATION IS POSSIBLE, WHY ARE YOU FUNDRAISING FOR A RESTORATION SURGERY?

Over years of patient, dedicated effort, I’ve used nonsurgical methods to restore much of what was lost. In the restoration community, we measure progress by the Coverage Index (CI), a scale from 1 to 10. Most circumcised men start between CI-1 and CI-3, as for my personal journey I’ve made it all the way to CI-7.

That progress gave me back a sense of agency I never thought I’d have. But there are limits to what I can achieve on my own. Certain anatomical damage from the original circumcision simply can’t be undone without surgical help. And until recently, the available surgical options were crude, ineffective, and at worst a skin graft pretending to be restorative in nature.

This bleak reality turned on its head when I learned about the work of Dr. Sven Gunther. Dr. Gunther, In collaboration with a pioneer patient named Daniel Floyd, led to the successful operation and creation of a foreskin restoration procedure that involved zero usage of skin grafting while maintaining full sensation. To call this a monumental accomplishment is an understatement.

This experimental restoration procedure however is not a full restoration in a single operation, but rather it’s a procedure designed to work with the progress a patient has already made. It corrects the deep damage that non-surgical restoration cannot. Of particular note is the structure of the penile skin tube in restored folk, it is tubular in shape and restoration ultimately only extends said skin tube, however in intact and unaltered genitalia, the selfsame tube terminates into a snug conical shape however it needs the tissue that has been painstakingly gained through years of restorative efforts to have tissue to shape in that desired way.

This procedure is new, delicate, and profoundly impactful. Since its first successful case just six months ago, Dr. Gunther’s office has been receiving about one patient per week seeking the same chance.

Because I’ve reached CI-7, I’m an ideal candidate with a high likelihood of a successful outcome with minimized risks compared to the pioneer patient who underwent this procedure when they were only CI-4/5.

In addition, as of this current iteration of my campaign story, I have successfully completed a consultation with Dr. Gunther and he also can personally vouch for my fitfulness and compatibility with the procedure. While experimental in nature, I am extremely confident both in Dr. Gunther and my own personal chances of a successful and desirable outcome.

WHERE THE FUNDS WILL BE GOING

Funds raised through this campaign will be used specifically toward:

1. Medical consultation and surgical expenses associated with consultation, evaluation, and the procedure itself.

2. Post-operative lodging and recovery including accommodation needed to remain near the surgical practice during the immediate post-operative period for monitoring and follow-up.

I will use the funds for these medical and related expenses rather than for unrelated personal purchases.

MORE THAN JUST A PIECE OF SKIN

This is not an easy thing for me to ask for.

The subject is intimate, controversial, and difficult to explain to people who have never experienced this particular kind of loss. I also understand that people have very different opinions about circumcision.

I am not asking everyone who reads this to share my beliefs about circumcision.

I am asking you to understand that this happened to me, that it has had a profound and lasting effect on my life, and that I am trying to do something constructive about it.

This isn’t just about a physical change. For me, completing this restoration means finally silencing the grief that has followed me since childhood. It means reclaiming my body as fully mine, in a way that honors the decades of effort I’ve already poured in. It’s about healing not just tissue, but the lasting emotional wounds of having my autonomy taken away before I could speak.
