Help Colin Evans with his major back injuries

Donation protected
Hello, everyone,

This fund is for the amazing Colin Evans, a wonderful guy who is an incredibly hard worker, a great fisherman, and a loving father.

Regretfully, on Wednesday, May 10, Colin was severely hurt at work when he fell off a loft of a home he was building. The nature of his injuries had him rushed to the emergency room where they found his injuries so concerning that he stayed there for two nights.

The family has started this fund to raise money for him and his daughter Izzy as they navigate this major injury and life-changing event.

At the time of this post, we know that Colin has fractured his neck and back in seven places. He also has a fractured rib and pneumothoraces.

Colin is currently advised to be sedentary, wear a Aspen Vista CTO 2-Post Cervical Collar and Thoracic Support brace, and sleep in a medical bed at a special angle. He has a walker and a wheelchair. He also has various My Little Ponies and Izzy's doctor toys to hasten his recovery <3

A minimum of 12 weeks of bedrest without work has been medically mandated.

This fund is to cover the three months of living expenses to start (rent, truck payment, insurance, electricity, phone, Izzy's daycare, food, etc).

We are staying advised and adjusting the goal as we learn more.

Colin is potentially getting medical assistance through Workman's Comp, but the reality of that is yet unknown. As of now, Colin has been out of work for two weeks and no income has been recovered. Each month has approximately $3000 in need.

Any donation will be gratefully accepted with an open heart.

If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this link to get the word out, or even keeping Colin in your thoughts.

No one should have to face such a painful and life-altering tragedy, especially when simply trying to provide for themselves.

While we don't know what kind of the six major fracture types we are dealing with yet, multiple x-rays were taken and then appointments with neurosurgeons were made. This makes the family think they are comminuted fractures, but we don't want to say anything conclusive lest we be incorrect.

Cervical spinal cord injuries are typically the most severe type of spinal cord injuries. They may result in quadriplegia or tetraplegia with associated loss of muscle strength in all four extremities. We are meeting with the neurosurgeon on June 7th to learn more.

What we do know is that Colin's road to recovery will be long and challenging. We also know he's a fighter and is already actively participating in his recovery. He will get there, but he needs everyone's help.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all truly for taking the time to read this and for doing what you can.

Love,

Colin and his friends and family (that's you!)
