Hello, I'm Colin Coward. Many of you will know me as a result of my work for over four and a half decades of ministry in the Church of England as a contemplative activist priest.
I'm raising funds to expand the resources available to inspire transformation in the Church of England for all those committed to changing our theology and awareness of the "reality" of God.
Eleven years ago, I launched Unadulterated Love, a website and blog pursuing the John 10.10 vision of “life in all its fulness”. It is a resource fuelled by the energy and conviction that lives rooted in spiritual depth, stillness, silence and unconditional love can be channelled to create change in individual and corporate Church life. The energy of this dream is even more urgently required today.
The website needs a radical revamp. I am being urged to write a book. I need to maintain my membership of organizations and contacts with allies. Revamping the website and research for a book will cost far more than my retirement income affords. £5,000 will enable me to continue campaigning with a healthy, inclusive, spiritually mature, visionary, well-resourced energy.
Forty-one years ago I founded Changing Attitude, a movement campaigning for the full equality of LGBTIQA+ people in ministry and relationship in the Church of England. Changing Attitude England remains committed to international relationships with our LGBTQIA+ brothers and sisters in other Anglican Provinces. In many Anglican Provinces homophobic colonial laws remain on the statute book. They are used to persecute LGBTQIA+ people, often with the support of the Church. I continue to be allied with Changing Attitude groups in Ireland and Australia and with networks in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
