Hi my name is charmaine
It's is with great sadness that I inform you that our dearest brother Colin Anthony Dunkley has passed away.
Colin was a quiet kind and giving person that would do anything to help anyone.
Colin battled with his mental health.
In 2016 he jumped in front of the tube despite being on a SECTION under the mental health.
He narrowly survived with 3 breaks to his back and neck part brain damage and a double hip replacement.
Colin was still even after this accident, ignored by the community mental health team and left totally unsupported in the community.
Colin had really tough bouts of mental health breakdowns that left him really beating up on himself.
In November 2024 Colin made another major attempt on his life by jumping off of Chelsea Bridge.
Colin had been an in patient in hospital up until two weeks ago.
During that two weeks after being released my the authories UNSUPERVISED and without a care plan he was told to give up his dogs (his children) otherwise they wouldn't house him. Devastated!
Upon hearing this I made 10 failed calls to get my brother help as I knew he wasn't going to cope with this. Every call went unheard.
He took the dogs to the battersea dogs and cats home and the staff there were that concerned for his mental state he was severly truly heartbroken and distraught they respectfully didn't allow him to leave their premises without call the ambulance and police.
He was brought back in to SPRINGFIELDS HOSPITAL and they had him sleeping in a chair on a locked ward.
I specifically told the staff my brother needed th be chaperoned when having a cigarette or leaving the ward as he was deeply distressed and vulnerable.
He told them he wanted to leave and they simply pressed the door released and assisted him in taking his life
He took them dogs to the dogs home against his was forced to hand them over otherwise they wouldnt house him and on friday and then hung himself.
This is very traumatic for us to deal with and an investigation in to his lack of care he received is underway.
I will not stop until we get answers.
It's is very embarrassing for me that I am asking for help but i just know im unable to lay my brother to rest without support.
Please if your able pls help support with funeral costs.
All support will be very appreciated and on behalf of myself and family I thank you in advance.
